Savannah and Jackson met during their freshman year at Ole Miss—Hotty Toddy! On her first day of Chemistry 105, Savannah noticed a very tall, handsome guy walk into the classroom... actually, he was late, so all 100 students in the class noticed him walk in. A few weeks later, Savannah and her friends were at a bar enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Oxford when the cute guy from her chemistry class walked in. She immediately turned to her best friend, Skylar, and told her the boy from chem class was there. When Skylar saw him, a huge smile spread across her face.

Skylar said, “The cute guy from your chem class is Jackson Vanderslice! I know him!”. She grabbed Savannah's arm, pulled her to the bar, and introduced her to her future husband. Jackson introduced himself and said, “Hey, you're in my chemistry class, right? Have you done the homework that’s due tomorrow?”, Savannah had done the homework but simply replied, “No, have you?”

They had their first date that night at the JD Williams Library. The rest was history.
